Horses of Racing Age

May be nominated at any time and receive eligibility for their entire racing career. The nomination fee for a non-nominated horse sired by a nominated stallion (in the year of conception) is $100,000 (US). The nomination fee for a non-nominated horse sired by a non-nominated stallion is $200,000 (US). Horses may be nominated using the form available here (PDF file).


All horses sired by stallions properly nominated in the year of conception to the Breeders' Cup, European Breeders' Fund or the EBF Common Fund are eligible to be nominated to the Breeders' Cup program by payment of a one-time $100,000 (US) nomination fee. All horses sired by stallions not nominated in the year of conception to the Breeders' Cup, European Breeders' Fund or the EBF Common Fund are eligible to be nominated to the Breeders' Cup program by payment of a one-time $200,000 (US) nomination fee. A Breeders' Cup nominated foal is eligible to participate in any Breeders' Cup racing program, including the $26 million Breeders' Cup World Championships event, for its entire racing career without any further nomination payments due.

A Breeders' Cup foal nominator will be eligible to earn nominator awards throughout the entire racing career of the foal, no matter who owns him at that time.  So your nominated horse can still be earning money for you even if you sell him.
